Regional Health and Safety Supervisor

Our Health, Safety & Environment group is currently growing and is looking to add a Regional Health and Safety Supervisor to the team, based in Vaughan, ON.Reporting to the Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental Director/Manager, the Regional Health and Safety Supervisor provides advice and support to management teams, direct reports, and supervisors, within the assigned geographical area.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDefine, communicate, and enforce the roles and accountabilities of Safety Supervisors and AdvisorsEnsure compliance with Valard HS&E policies, applicable legislation, client requirements, and industry standardsMaintain current knowledge of legislative changes and communicate impacts to project and corporate leadershipEnsure Site Safety Management Plans (SMPs) are established, implemented, and maintained for all projectsImplement corporate safety strategies and performance measuresMaintain a visible field presence through site visits, conversations, and documented observationsIdentify safety risks, trends, and non-compliances; recommend and implement corrective actionsProvide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to Safety Supervisors, Advisors, and project teamsConduct regular performance reviews with direct reports and document outcomesEnsure incidents are reported within required timelines and correctly classified under the established frameworkDetermine investigation involvement based on incident severity and ensure root cause analysis is completedReview incident reports for accuracy and ensure final submissions to head office within 72 hoursEnsure corrective actions are tracked, completed, and sustainedSupport development and distribution of safety alerts and shared learningCompile, analyze, and report safety performance metrics, trends, and field findingsPrepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety reports to the Corporate Safety Director/ManagerIdentify opportunities to improve safety performance, operational efficiency, and costPrepare for and participate in audits including COR, ISO 45001, and client/owner auditsBuild and maintain effective working relationships with clients, client representatives, and internal stakeholdersEnsure client safety obligations are understood and met at the project levelProvide safety input during pre-award, tendering, and early project phases, including hazard identificationCommunicate significant safety issues, risks, and concerns to the Corporate Safety Director/ManagerCoordinate regular meetings with Safety Supervisors and Advisors to review issues, trends, and upcoming activitiesParticipate in quarterly leadership meetings and contribute agenda itemsRequirementsPost-Secondary Education in Occupational Health and SafetyCanadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) or Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP) certification5 years of progressive experience in Construction SafetyDemonstrated experience with Incident Investigation including Root cause investigationValid driver’s license and ability to provide a satisfactory drivers abstractDemonstrated familiarity with applicable provincial legislationsBenefitsThis position offers an annual base salary of $95 000 - $125 000, depending on experience and qualifications.We offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.
