Responsibilities
• Analyze and interpret broadband coverage and infrastructure data using GIS tools.
• Develop interactive maps and spatial visualizations to support decision-making.
• Automate data workflows and streamline GIS processes for efficiency.
• Perform geostatistical analysis to identify patterns and trends in broadband access.
• Create and manage enterprise geodatabases and ensure data integrity.
• Support broadband feasibility studies with visual resources and analysis.
• Develop and implement GIS-based solutions to enhance broadband planning.
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8 years of direct, hands-on experience and proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and FME Software.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience creating thematic maps that highlight specific data points or trends.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience designing and producing maps that visually represent spatial data.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience developing exploratory analysis by transforming raw data tables and data frames into accurate maps.
• 8 years of direct, hands-on experience in creating and managing geospatial datasets and performing complex spatial queries.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience using statistical techniques to analyze geographic data and make predictions.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience with spatial data extraction, transformation, and loading to enterprise geodatabases.
• 8 years of direct, hands-on experience with spatial analysis, analyzing and interpreting geographic data, spatial relationships, and patterns.
Desirable Qualifications
• 8 years of direct, hands-on experience with spatial analysis, analyzing and interpreting geographic data, spatial relationships, and patterns.
• 3 years of experience creating detailed maps that show broadband coverage, infrastructure, and demographic information to help identify areas needing improvement.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience automating redundant GIS processes, implementing workflows, and GIS modeling techniques for streamlining business operations.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience converting coordinates, lines, boundaries, and place names from structured and unstructured data.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience creating and deploying map services, feature services, geoprocessing services, and geocoding services.
• 3 years of direct, hands-on experience creating models to simulate real-world scenarios and forecast future events.
• 3 years of direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis related to data manipulation/transformation, cleansing, and wrangling.
• 3 years of direct, hands-on experience with version control systems like Git, GitHub, for managing code and collaborating with other developers.
• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience working with ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase development and maintenance using SQL Server.
• 3 years of experience in RESTful APIs and how to integrate them into GIS applications.
• 3 years of experience with mobile GIS applications for data collection and fieldwork, such as Collector for ArcGIS or Survey123.
• 3 years of experience working with Alberta Town System (ATS).
• 3 years of experience working with Python programming language.
• 5 years of strong problem-solving skills to address complex spatial issues.
