PCL is an innovative organization that focuses on the future of our employees as much as the future of construction.  Here's how a(n) HSE Coordinator for our Edmonton Industrial Management office contributes to our team:ResponsibilitiesAssisting in conducting and identifying when project-specific training is required, which may include weekly training topics, hazard-specific training, and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP)Participating in and providing information for HSE meetingsProviding project team with project-specific information and statistics to develop trends and assisting with the creation of trend action plansAssisting with the development and implementation of Hazard ID tools (e.g., Construction Hazard Assessment (CHA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Pre-job Safety Instruction (PSI))Conducting and documenting project HSE inspectionsVerifying that corrective actions are implementedIdentifying and monitoring appropriate site PPEAssisting project management and supervision with the implementation and monitoring of the emergency response plan, project security requirements, and environmental planGathering, reviewing, and providing input on trade documentationMonitoring trade contractor safety complianceNotifying project management and direct supervision of any incident and assisting with the investigationAssisting in the implementation, monitoring, and support of the project’s HSE Plan, HSEOPs, safe work practices, and any other HSE-related practices.QualificationsA postsecondary diploma or degree in OH&S is considered an assetSafety designations such as NCSO, CRSP, or CHST are considered an asset2 years experience in a related industry with direct experience in HSEKnowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislationAbility to implement HSE processesDemonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibilityAbility to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workersEffective communication and presentation skillsAbility to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationshipsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technologyPCL is an innovative, employee-owned company comprised of people who find passion in their profession and take pride in doing great work every day.
