Job Description• Design of traffic signals and illumination for various clients • Preparation of lighting and traffic signal layouts • Preparation of wiring diagrams and electrical details • Photometric analysis of lighting systems • Voltage drop calculations • Preparation of contract documents and specifications • Site visits and contract administrationQualificationsMinimum Requirements: • Undergraduate degree or Technologist diploma in Electrical Engineering • 5+ years of relevant work experience in construction design-consultingPreferred Qualifications: • 5+ years relevant experience in traffic signal and streetlighting design, ideally in a design-consulting or utility environment • Knowledge of various municipal and MTO lighting and traffic signal design standards • Working knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manuals (Book 12, 12A, 15, 5, 6 & 7), Lighting Standards (IESNA RP-8), Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices Canada (MUTCDC), and Technical Manuals published by the Transportation Association of Canada • Must be proficient with computer aided design software such as Microstation and AutoCAD • Must be proficient with light calculation software such as AGI32 or Autolux • Experience with O.Reg 22/04 certification and liaising with utility authorities • Experience with pole loading software i.e. SPIDAcalc or equivalent is an asset • Experience performing electrical site inspections, construction supervision and contract administrationAdditional InformationEgis Canada is an equal opportunities employer offering a competitive salary and benefits to those with the skills suited to the needs of our clients.We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
