Job DescriptionCEDA is currently seeking a Journeyman, Heavy Duty Technician to join the Dredging and Fluid Management team in Sparwood, BC. This is a long-term temporary site-based opportunity with camp and flights provided. What we offer:14x14 rotation, day shift onlyAccommodations and flights providedSafety is Number 1: we watch out for one another and pride ourselves in doing the work right the first timeFull time, year round work with an excellent team completing the majority of repairs in house, allowing for continuous growth and skill developmentKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreventative maintenance on Stationary Diesel Engines, Hydraulic Systems, Trailer Units, Dredges, Barges & Marine equipmentOngoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumpsTroubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective partsInterpret work ordersAttend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduledEnsure all health, safety and environment practices and paperwork are complete for all day to day activitiesOther duties as assignedRole SpecificationsJourneyman Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal requiredExperience in hydraulic, electrical, dredge and pump systems an assetOil & Gas experience an assetValid Class 5 license with less than 5 demeritsWeight handling of up to 50 lbsAble to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol testSkillsYou’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safelyYou’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobsYour knowledge John Deere, Cummins and CAT engines would set you up for successYou’re flexible - willing to work an on-call schedule as needed and adapt to changing work environmentsComputers are your friend, not your enemyFamiliarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to provide your own tools would be assets.Additional InformationThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  They are not intended to be an exhausted list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.To learn more, please also visit our page to view upcoming job fairs and events or follow us on Facebook.
