Senior Cost Consultant – Senior Electrical Estimator

Job DescriptionAs a Senior Consultant – Electrical Estimator , you will be involved in:Development of cost estimating proceduresManage the development of cost estimates for projects from concept through executionOversee and manage cost estimators and other project controls personnel, tasked with delivering cost estimating servicesReview and validate cost estimates prepared by internal estimators, contractors, and technical disciplines internal and external to the client organizationCoordinate costing of complex projectsBenchmark for validation and target-setting on major projectsParticipate in cost risk analysis using the appropriate method for the estimateFor each estimate class, determine (from existing suite of tools and techniques):Appropriate estimating techniques (benchmarking, parametric modelling, detailed estimating, etc.)Appropriate estimating tool (client tools, customized estimating spreadsheets, industry estimating software, benchmarking, etc.)Appropriate methodology for dealing with uncertainties (standard contingency factors, probabilistic estimating techniques, etc.)Participate in updates of in-house estimating toolsMaintain central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contribute to updating of “Best Practices” in estimatingQuality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards and participation in ISO auditsTaking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stagesLeading teams, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilitiesQualificationsA recognized relevant university degree in Engineering / Construction ManagementMembership in relevant professional organizations is beneficialA minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in electrical cost estimating positions across all project phases in Oil & Gas or Mining.
