This posting represents a current opportunity at Giant Tiger. Job TitleAssociate Merchandise PlannerAbout This Role:The Associate Merchandise Financial Planner supports the MFP team with reporting, analysis, and insights that drive planning and decision-making. This role focuses on sales, margin, and inventory reporting, post-mortem analysis, TM1 budget and forecast entry, and ad-hoc analysis to support the business.This role will follow a hybrid schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Laval Office, 1001 Bd du Curé-Labelle, Laval, QC 1-2 times a month for an 8-5 schedule.Candidates who live in the Ottawa/Gatineau area and can go into the Ottawa Home Office, 2480 Walkley Rd 1-2 times a month for an 8-5 schedule, will also be considered.What You'll Be Doing:Provide planners with supporting historical breakdowns as the feed in for building block creation in the class level financial plans. Prepares reporting and category specific analysis to support the planner with the weekly and monthly analysis of sales, profitability, and inventoryPopulate the monthly Post Mortem reports of actual results for Merchandise Financial PlannersProvide straightforward ad hoc sales analysis and reporting weekly to support business decisions and strategic initiativesEnter budgets and forecasts into TM1 as assigned by the Merchandise Financial PlannerSupport the reconciliation of store plans to ensure alignment with financial and operational targetsPopulate weekly promotional reporting based on actualsWhat You'll Bring:Post secondary education (Business Administration, Finance, or Mathematics preferred)A genuine interest in the retail industry and growing a career with a leading Canadian brandDemonstrates a good understanding of the retail Merchandise Financial Planning process and key performance metricsPossesses effective analytical skills, with the ability to spot trends and suggest actionable solutionsEffective communication skills; able to interact with all levels of the organization, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraintsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDetailed oriented and organizedGiant Tiger is proud to offer a Total Rewards package designed to support your financial security, health, and career growth.
