- The Data Management Analyst will be integral to the client's most critical data initiatives, aligning their work with the organization's data strategy while delivering high-quality solutions for data users.

- As a Data Management Analyst, you will work closely with internal teams, particularly investment teams, data owners, and other business units, to ensure that data management and governance are executed effectively.
- Your ability to simplify complex data issues and communicate them clearly to senior leaders will be key to achieving alignment and driving solutions.
- Data Management Analyst will work on enhancing data quality, establishing data governance practices, and ensuring the accuracy of enterprise data, all while promoting collaboration across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Governance and Ownership:
- Own relationships with senior data owners and become a subject matter expert on the business processes and data domains under your purview. Build strong partnerships to understand their data needs and act as the primary point of contact for data governance issues.
- Collaboration with Investment Teams:
- Work closely with investment teams and data owners from various business units to understand both current and future data requirements. Use these insights to inform your data management approach and contribute to solutions that support business objectives.
- Data Quality Solutions:
- Act as a liaison between data owners and the data management team, facilitating the identification of data quality issues and providing solutions. Conduct root cause analysis, develop and implement data quality measurement tools, and work on continuous data quality improvement initiatives.
- Business Process and Metadata Analysis:
- Analyze and document business processes and metadata for supporting applications and datasets, ensuring that the necessary information is accurately captured and available for future use. Ensure consistency and reliability across all metadata.
- Enterprise Data Catalog Maintenance:
- Actively contribute to populating and improving client's enterprise data catalog. Ensure that it provides high-quality metadata to data users, supporting both operational and strategic data decision-making processes.
- Data Quality Rule Implementation:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand data quality needs, suggesting, implementing, and monitoring data quality rules that align with the organization's requirements and objectives.
- Identification and Communication of Data Risks:
- Identify potential risks, issues, and implications relating to data, and assist in communicating these effectively to relevant stakeholders. Work collaboratively to resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring that data governance and quality standards are maintained.
- Effective Communication of Complex Concepts:
- Communicate complex investment data concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, concise manner. This involves translating technical details into actionable insights for decision-makers across the organization.
- Continuous Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance data management processes, improve data quality, and strengthen data governance practices. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in investment data management and governance, incorporating these insights into clients' data management strategies.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Educational Background:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.
- Investment Data Expertise:
- Strong understanding of investment data types, investment instruments, and industry concepts. Familiarity with financial data and the nuances of data management in the investment space is crucial.
- Data Governance and Quality Experience:
- Proven experience in implementing and managing data governance frameworks and data quality initiatives. Familiarity with tools and platforms that support these initiatives is highly desirable.
- Collaboration and Communication Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. You should be able to simplify complex data challenges and communicate solutions effectively to senior leadership.
- Adaptability to Agile Environments:
- A readiness to work both individually and collaboratively within an Agile setup, contributing to team-based efforts while also taking ownership of your responsibilities.
Desired Attributes:
- Experience with Enterprise Data Catalogs:
- Familiarity with Enterprise Data Catalogs such as Atlan or Collibra is highly desirable, as these platforms are central to organizing and managing metadata.
- Experience with Data Quality Platforms:
- Experience with data quality platforms like Soda or Monte Carlo would be beneficial for ensuring that data meets high standards for integrity and accuracy.
- Familiarity with Data Management Tools:
- Experience with platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Power BI, or Microsoft Azure will be advantageous for analyzing, visualizing, and managing data in an investment management environment.
- Experience with Financial Platforms:
- Knowledge of financial data management platforms like BlackRock Aladdin or SimCorp Dimension will be an asset, as these platforms are often used in investment management and will provide insights into clients' operations.
- Relevant Industry Certifications:
- Certifications such as CFA, CAIA, FRM, or other relevant data management or investment management certifications will be highly regarded and provide an additional layer of credibility and expertise.
