Summary:

We are searching for a Trainer for our Canadian branches and customers. The successful candidate will serve as a technical trainer providing support to both internal cross-functional teams and external customers. Key responsibilities include designing and building testbeds for TX3 access control, security systems and fire products, troubleshooting field issues, and facilitating communication between engineering, internal teams, and customers. They will also collaborate with the technical support team to address field issues and create application guides. Additionally, the candidate will design and build demonstrator cases to showcase the TX3 and fire products. The ideal candidate should reside in the GTA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training sessions of TX3 & Secutron Fire.
  • Develop a training schedule & online learning centre.
  • Resolve escalated cases from technical support, sales and other internal/external groups - fire/ TX3 products. 
  • Create TX3 training video content for Mircom Learn. 
  • Train internal employees on TX3 product portfolio. 
  • Create fire and TX3 product demo panels.
  • Create internal and field application guides for TX3 products.
  • Work with production team to resolve production/ hardware issues.
  • Work with QA to resolve hardware/ software issues and assist with hardware/ software regression testing and procedures. 
  • Work with engineering team to resolve hardware/ software issues and implement new features and changes in Fire and TX3 product portfolios.
  • Work with engineering and test dept. to resolve any test and product related issues.
  • Work with RMA dept. to resolve hardware issues/ conduct further in-depth test and analysis (component level).
  • Work with Product Management team and assist with product roadmap.
  • Assist sales team members with RFQs.
  • Assist and troubleshoot with technical field issues and communicate internal issues to service dept.

Requirements and Skills:

  • College Diploma in Business, Engineering or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications like NFPA are a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a training role, ideally in security systems, fire alarm or life safety.
  • Strong expertise in designing and delivering technical training programs, with an in-depth understanding of industry regulations and standards. Experience in creating training video content and conducting sessions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and bridge communication between cross-functional departments (sales, technical support, production, QA, engineering).
  • In-depth technical knowledge of TX3 and fire product lines, including hardware and software, to resolve escalated issues and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or within teams to resolve technical issues; capable of working closely with production, QA, engineering, and test teams.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), AI-driven content tools, and other training technologies.
  • Ability to design demo panels, create comprehensive application guides for TX3 products, and assist with product roadmap development.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware issues and working with RMA teams for in-depth analysis.
  • Support sales teams with RFQs and provide technical assistance.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical field issues and effectively communicating with the service department.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a high level of attention to detail in documentation, training, and product tasks.
  • Ability to manage ad-hoc tasks and collaborate across various departments, including engineering, QA, and RMA.
  • Must be able to travel to branches across Canada.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in French is an asset.
