As our newest Electrical Estimator in our Penticton or Kelowna, BC location, you'll be at the heart of the action, managing a bid from beginning to end—creating a scope definition, reviewing the estimate, and maintaining documentation control— ensuring that every detail of project pricing is carefully considered and included. This is an ideal opportunity for a Red Seal Electrician looking to transition out of the field and take on a new challenge. Site Investigations: Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings to clarify project expectations, highlight potential issues, and ensure the team is well-prepared. Bid Proposals & Documentation: Review project plans, specs, and proposals to prepare accurate and comprehensive bid estimates, ensuring all required information is included. Trade & Supplier Communication: Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, managing communication during the tender phase to secure the best deal and maintain relationships. Estimating & Scheduling: Accurately estimate labor, material, and equipment costs while building detailed construction schedules to guide the project. What You Bring to the Team: Experience & Skills: + years in the field on commercial/industrial projects Experienced doing take offs and preparing estimates (preferred) Well-versed with the following systems: Fire Alarm, Security, Solar, Data/Communication, DDC/BMS/HVAC Controls, Instrumentation, Commercial lighting controls and wiring Proficient at reading drawings and installing main power distribution equipment - panels, transformers, main distribution switchboards etc. - per drawings Practiced at reading equipment cut sheets Skilled at installing specialty/high-end lighting and controls as per manufacturers' installation requirements and as shown on drawings Education: A Journeyperson Red Seal Electrician certification and/or an Electrical Engineering degree/diploma with relevant site experience Problem Solving: You're a resourceful, solution-oriented individual who can think outside the box Communication: Strong communication skills are a must. Tech Savvy: Experience with estimating databases, like Accubid, is an added advantage. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Bluebeam. A little about Wildstone. We’re family-owned and operated, we take on projects in some of the most remote, challenging and exciting locations in western and northern Canada, and our goal is to always make a positive impact through community involvement where we work. We take care of our teams with benefits that include health/dental/vision, RRSP matching, Employee and Family Assistance Programs, an Employee Recognition and Rewards Program and Unlimited Paid Time off after years.
