If you’re looking to work for a dynamic, fast-paced, progressive organization then apply with us.We offer the following in our search for engaged employees looking to become part of a successful team:A continuous learning environment that develops your individual career goalsA continuous improvement environment where all ideas are exploredEngaged coaches and mentors who will provide guidance but also allow autonomyTeam atmosphereCompetitive and comprehensive total rewards package including company paid group benefits and company sponsored retirement savings planSupport of professional memberships and certificationsStandard office hours; Monday to Friday from approximately 8:00am to 5:00pmKey Accountabilities:Advertise Owner Operator/ AZ Driver opportunities online and through print media externallyConduct initial pre-screen interviews via email or telephone to ensure the candidate meets DOT requirementsReview submitted driver application forms and required documentation for accuracy and file completionSchedule road evaluations with a Driver Trainer to evaluate driving capabilitiesEvaluate candidates during in-person interviews asking applicable situational and behaviour questions and documenting the candidate’s response Coordinate reference checks, pre-employment medical tests and criminal background checksCollaborate with the Safety Department to ensure all required new hire documentation is obtainedSchedule and confirm qualified drivers for orientation and onboardingProvide employment contracts and pay package information to new drivers Focus on retention of drivers through regular communication with new and current drivers to ensure overall job satisfaction and assist with resolving issues as requiredAttend job fairs, trade shows, and other recruiting networking events Perform other duties as requiredOperators / AZ Drivers in the transportation industry.What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:Post-secondary degree or diploma in Sociology, Psychology, Human Resources or related field is preferred2-5 years’ experience recruiting Owner Operators and AZ Drivers in the transportation industry is preferredKnowledge of International, Federal and Provincial safety regulations in addition to best practices related to transportation and human resources is preferredFluent in English is required, bilingual in French or another language is an assetEffective probing and interviewing skills, in person and over the telephoneStrong computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite Creative and effective problem-solving ability Strong analytical and decision-making skillsDetail and deadline oriented, with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment to meet tight deadlinesStrong verbal communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skillsFlexibility in communication styles to communicate and reach drivers (via email, fax, text, phone) Professional writing, editing and proofreading skillsStrong customer service focusProactive attitude and takes initiative Ability to act with maturity and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential informationAbility to exercise tact and judgment in managing a diversity of internal and external contactsWell-organized, enthusiastic, creative, professional and a positive team memberWillingness to travel locally and currently in possession of a valid driver’s licenseHow To Apply:If you are looking to join a premier transportation company, and become an integral part of results oriented team who constantly challenge themselves to Go The Distance for our customers and for each other, the role of Driver Recruiter may be right for you.No phone calls, please.
