This program is the first of its kind delivered to the RCAF and offers a unique opportunity for you to bring your expertise and dedication to work on this groundbreaking aviation system. The successful candidate will maintain the MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft alongside members of the RCAF at the Air Maintenance Detachment East, in Greenwood, Nova Scotia.Duties & responsibilities:Inspect, maintain, repair, and test aircraft systemsRemove and replace line replaceable units and componentsEnsure the accurate completion of technical recordsDeploy to remote and/or international locations for extended periods of timePerform specialty work in maintenance shops as required. Interpret technical publications and diagrams Maintain tools and equipment required to perform primary dutiesOrder aircraft spare parts and materialsConduct flight line servicing operations Debrief Team Lead as requiredCarry out workplace inspections and clean upsComply with safety, quality, airworthiness, and technical policies and proceduresWork shifts on a routine basis and overtime when neededTravel for essential trainingMandatory qualifications:Transport Canada approved Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance or Avionics Maintenance Diploma or Canadian Forces Aviation (AVN) Technician or Avionics (AVS) Technician QualificationPossession of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License with an M1, M2 or E rating or be a Canadian Forces Journeyman Aviation (AVN) Technician or Avionics (AVS) TechnicianAt least 5 years of first- and second-line aircraft maintenance related experienceProven experience as a team playerStrong communication skillsBe able to work shiftsPossess a valid driver’s licenseAbility to meet the RCAF deployable fitness criteriaEligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work PermitCapable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods Clearance and a NATO secret security clearanceRole requires being deployed with the RCAF to expeditionary locations around the globe and to a forward operating location in the arctic in support of MQ-9B operationsWe offer you:Working environment of 2024 Canada’s top 100 employers.A dynamic and innovative environment in which to grow.A stimulating career path and internal mobility.Attractive benefits, including but not limited to: Defined benefits retirement planStocks purchased planFlexible vacationsDeployment premiumsRelocation assistance, if applicableAll tooling, equipment, and clothing required for the positionCompetitive maternity and parental leave policies And more*Please note that this is not an active job requisition.
