We transform risk into progress through data, experience, and intuition.Fearless Ownership.We deliver what we promise and learn along the way.We’re Looking For:We are seeking aVehicle Inspection Manager with experience in OPENLANE’s vehicle inspection processes to lead a team of skilled Vehicle Inspection Specialists (VIS) at our Vehicle Logistics Centre (VLC). The Vehicle Inspection Manager is directly responsible for ensuring highly accurate inspection results, enabling our customers to make educated decisions. This role is hands-on, including quality control, process improvement, and performance management. You are:Data-Driven.You are focused on results and use data to identify opportunities to improve the overall performance of the inspection department.Accountable.You lead by example, fostering a culture of alignment, support, urgency for change, and results. Proactive.You take initiative to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Vehicle Inspection team.You will: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of OPENLANE policies, processes, and procedures and the tools used in the conduct of vehicle inspections.Responsible for developing teams capable of delivering exceptional inspection services, in line with standard processes and performance targets established in consultation with the Sr VLC Operations Manager. Oversee the direct efforts to train, motivate, coach, counsel, and mentor VIS, performing real-time coaching as needed.Leading by example, ensure standard process is consistently followed as VIS inspect vehicles for signs of wear, tear, neglect, damage, previous repair, or structural damageMonitor inspection requests via the portal & established communication channels, ensuring vehicles are sale-ready and that the department is adequately staffed to meet SLAs. Monitor trends, identifying repeat errors & arbitration, develop & implement action plans to reduce claim costs related to inspection errorsKeep current on technology updates, new releases, and product development in order to capture data accurately on a mobile device, work comfortably with software and technology.Grow talent - attract, engage, retain, and grow great people at OPENLANE. Engage Teams - create and sustain a high trust team culture that embraces and values people’s talents, diversity, and contributions to OPENLANE’s goals. Who You Will Work With:Reporting to the Senior VLC Operations Manager, this role will collaborate with VLC leadership, commercial and dealer sales team, and our shared services team on a daily basis. Must Haves:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business or related discipline required.Must possess aptitude for reporting and analyzing data (inventory, financial and operational in nature) accurately and quickly. 3+ years’ experience supervising/managing a team.Must possess strong time management skills, attention to detail, with mastery of setting priorities and executing those priorities, for self and others. Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation and be able to maintain a good driving record.Nice to Haves: Prior experience conducting vehicle inspections and working with AMS, VTrace, or other OPENLANE systems is an assetTech-savvy, familiarity with Google Suite is an assetAbility to drive both standard & automatic transmissionsWhat We Offer: Competitive payMedical, dental, and vision benefits with employer HSA contributions (US) and FSA options (US)Immediately vested 401K (US) or RRSP (Canada) with company matchPaid Vacation, Personal, and Sick TimePaid maternity and paternity leave (US)Employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and AD&D (US)Robust Employee Assistance ProgramEmployer paid Leap into Service Day to volunteerTuition Reimbursement for eligible programsOpportunities to expand your skill set and share your knowledge across a publicly traded, global organizationCompany culture of internal promotions, diverse career paths, and meaningful advancement Sound like a match?
