Protection & Controls/Electrical Project Engineer NSB omega is searching for a – Protection & Controls/Electrical Project Engineer for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John's, NL. Assignment DescriptionKey Responsibilities· ProvidetechnicalsupporttotheProjectManageronvarious projects;· Reviewtenderpackagespreparedbyotherconsultantsand contractors;· Reviewshopdrawingspreparedbycontractorsand vendors;· Preparetenderpackagesfor contracts;· Preparerequestsforproposals (RFPs);· Providetechnicalinputasadesignteammemberforprojectsandothertechnical documentation;· Directandsuperviseconsultantsandcontractorsduringthecompletionofspecific engagements;· Reviewandapprovereportspreparedby consultants;· AttendFactoryAcceptanceTests(FAT)as required;· Conductregularsitevisitstomonitorconstructionactivities,verifyprojectprogress,and provide support to site teams;· Facilitateeffectivecommunicationacross stakeholders;· Reviewandapprovetechnicaldocumentation,including commissioning;· Assistwithprojectcloseoutactivities,ensuringsmoothtransitionofcompletedassetsto operations;· Promotecontinualimprovementthroughlessonslearned,innovativeapproaches,and sharing best practices with other project teams;· SubmittimesheetsanddocumentationinaccordancewithNLHydro’sproject management requirements;· Otherdutiesas assigned.Education & Degree Required · ElectricalEngineeringDegree,registeredwiththeProfessionalEngineersand Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association;· 8yearsormoreexperiencesince graduation;· ExperienceintheconfigurationandprogrammingofPLCsand DCS;· Experienceinnetworkarchitecture design;· Experienceinpreparingandusinglogicandwiring diagrams;· Experienceinsupervisingequipmentinstallationand commissioning;· Relevantexperienceincomplex,multi-discipline projects;· Experienceinselecting,settingandtroubleshootingprotective relays;· Aworkingknowledgeofcommunication protocols;· Provenanddemonstratedcommunication skills;· Abilitytothriveasaparticipantand/orleaderwithinamulti-disciplineteamofbothinternal and external resources;· Relevantexperienceinthedesign,implementationandtroubleshootingofprotectionand or control systems in general with emphasis on hydro generation plants or electrical transmission systems or equivalent;· Experienceindesign,managingconstructioncontractsand commissioning;· Experienceinpreparingproject estimates;· ExcellentcomputerskillsincludingaworkingknowledgeofMicrosoft Office;· Abilitytoadapttodynamicworkenvironmentsandchangingproject demands.Duration1 Year(With Possibility of Extension)LocationSt. John's, NL
