REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief Building Official LOCATION: Initial Placement – Paris Customer Service Office General Purpose: To provide support to the Building Division with daily tasks. Responsibilities/Duties: Assisting with building permit application intake, general customer inquiries, and providing assistance to the Plans Review team and Inspectors as required. Assisting with various administrative functions. Knowledge/Skills Required: Must have general knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Building Code Act and Municipal By-laws. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Must demonstrate safe work practices. Additional Information: Ability to undertake extended periods at a computer Good interpersonal skills Ability to maintain clear, accurate records of work undertaken Ability to organize work and resources Dedication to a high degree of professionalism Ability to travel between County offices and facilities as required Acceptable Criminal Police Records Check Steel Toe Work Boots are required (CSA approved) Education: Enrolled in a post-secondary school for Architectural or Construction Engineering Technology or a related field. Duration: May to August (35 hours/week) Hourly Rate: $22.54 (2025) Posting closes Monday February 02, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. You must be enrolled in a post-secondary Institution and returning to school in the fall in order to qualify for this position with the exception of completing a final co-op term.
