Your Opportunity:This position is primarily responsible for providing support to managers and internal and external clients by reviewing and validating statistical and financial records alignments. Financial and statistical information review includes: completing month end close procedures; monitoring adherence to timelines reconciling balance sheet accounts and system data providing financial and project support assisting with audit requests and preparing working papers assisting in the development, maintenance of new department initiatives preparation of costing forecasts, cost/benefit analysis, detailed variance analysis and other types of data analysis preparation of cost/benefit analysis, detailed variance analysis and other types of data analysis interpret and provide guidance for policies and procedures for operational and finance staff maintaining workflow and data integrity in the Stat GL system; and assisting with the provision of external reporting requirements. Overall, this position is expected to perform more complex analysis and provide coaching and indirect supervision to Financial Analysts and other junior staff members. The position contributes to the Finance Department’s objectives by ensuring that financial information included in the systems are reliable, timely, complete and accurate.Description: As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts. Required Qualifications: Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field ( economics, statistics).Additional Required Qualifications: As Required.Preferred Qualifications: Internal and external government reporting experience. Experience working in a large and complex finance environment.
