Artistree-MississaugaThe Material Handler is responsible for accurately and promptly transporting materials to/from workstations and racks, utilizing forklifts, carts and pallet jacks; while following safety rules, meeting productivity standards and achieving attendance requirements.Major Activities• Handling of Goods and MaterialsTransports goods to production and bin locationLoads/off-loads materials for use in productionPuts raw materials and packaging supplies in proper inventory locationMeets or exceeds productivity standards set by managementQualityAlerts management of issues or discrepanciesParticipates in physical inventories and cycle countsSafety & OrganizationMaintains a clean work area for safe and efficient operationInspects equipment as required to ensure safety and accuracyFollows all safety requirements for machine operationWears appropriate safety equipment at all timesProvides support to other production teams or functions, as neededMinimum Education High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalentMinimum Type of experience the job requires Pallet jack experienceOther Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English fluentlyMust have general, verbal, and numerical intelligence, including reading and matching of numerical sequencesAbility to accurately read a tape measure and ruler; accurately read calipersKnowledge of RF scan gun preferredPreferred Special Certifications or technical skills forklift experience Preferred Type of experience the job requires 1 year experience in manufacturingPhysical RequirementsConstantly stand and frequently walkFrequently bend from waist and twistConstantly lift up to 30lbs/13.6kgs and occasionally lift up to 50lbs/23.6kgs from floor to overheadOccasionally reach horizontally and overheadConstantly push/pull using total body and upper extremities, from floor to overhead, and occasionally reach horizontallyFeel with the touch of the fingersConstantly grasp, carry, and push with both handsConstantly move arms, hands and fingers to grasp, manipulate, or move/transport objectsReview physical requirements matrix for all requirementsWork EnvironmentHigh noise levels and moving machineryWork environment is not climate-controlled and subject to dust and high/low temperaturesMust be able to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentApplicants in Canada must satisfy federal, provincial, and local legal requirements of the job.
