If you have this same drive, then let’s talk Purpose of the Role: The Team Lead is a culture leader and subject matter expert who partners with senior management to drive team performance, support onboarding and development, and champion process excellence. This role exists to empower team members, foster collaboration, and ensure the successful integration of new hires, while maintaining a high standard of client service and operational efficiency. The Team Lead bridges the gap between leadership and the team, acting as a resource, guide, and champion for best practices, and adoption of new technology and processes. Core Responsibilities: Client Work – Maintain a portfolio of client files to stay current and model best practices (typically at least 50% of the time, depending on team need and time of year / business needs) Onboarding & Training (New Hires) – Lead onboarding for new hires, deliver ongoing training, and coordinate shadowing and milestone assessments (e.g. 3- and 6-month reviews) to ensure time-to-productivity goals are met Training (existing team) – Provide hands-on training for new technology and processes, along with refresher sessions to continuously upskill and support existing team members Support & Guidance – Offer day-to-day guidance and assistance, helping team members build confidence in new skills and processes. Maintain regular check-ins (weekly or biweekly) and liaise with Senior Managers to share observations, highlight trends, and provide feedback that supports broader team effectiveness. Process & Practice Management – Champion process improvements, drive adoption of tools (e.g. Salesforce), engage as project/pilot SMEs, and serve as a resource for procedures, efficiencies and best practices. Culture & Engagement – Partner with Senior Managers on team huddles, contribute to monthly and quarterly meetings, and support engagement action plans. Promote a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture aligned with firm values. Operational Support – Provide vacation coverage, support reporting and analytics, conduct quality-assurance spot checks, and act as a resource for team members and leadership. Cross-Team Collaboration – Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and internal committees, including WPAC, to strengthen communication, share insights, and support initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and firm culture. Contribute to a high-engagement, high-performance environment. Additional Responsibilities – Perform other relevant duties as assigned, adapting to evolving business and organizational needs. Required Skills & Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in financial planning, with proven high performance as a WPA, SWPA or Senior Associate in Private Wealth or Insurance. Demonstrated interest and informal experience in leadership, mentorship, or coaching peers. Strong technical skills and proficiency with relevant systems (e.g. Salesforce, case management tools) Respected member of the team, with a collaborative and supportive approach No formal leadership experience required; leadership development will be supported in role. Completion (or in the process of completing) at least one industry designation (e.g. LLQP, CIM or CFP) Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer Compensation & Benefits Package: This position comes with a base salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program.
