Through participation in our programs, youth will gain: ·A sense of excitement about their education ·A sense of belonging in their program and within SAIT ·A sense of preparedness for their future·A sense of confidence that they can succeed SAIT Summer Camps (SSC) is hiring one Data and Technology camp administrator for the 2026 summer camp season. The candidates will have experience and/or knowledge in the area of child and youth education. The candidates will have experience supervising peers in a workplace setting. These individuals should also have strong verbal and written communication skills evidenced by their customer service experience, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, which will be utilized frequently in this program. For Data and Technology camp administrator, the candidate is expected to be comfortable with learning and operating new systems, tracking and inputting information, and following processes and templates within current systems.This fast-paced, deadline-driven position requires an exceptional attitude, organizational skills, time management capabilities, and communication skills. This leadership position is essential to ensuring the camp experience runs smoothly and is enjoyable for campers, camp leaders, parents, and staff. Note: Early morning, evening and weekend work will be required seasonally. Your availability will be required for the entire duration of the summer camps period (June through August inclusive). All applicants must complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search if hired.How you'll contributeTeamwork and Leadership: Model best practices of teaching with leadersConsistently enforce SAIT Summer Camps policies and procedures with children, youth, staff, families, and the public Promote positive and respectful team atmosphere and work to create a cohesive staff unitManage stress effectively, being a source of stability to camp leadersExperience supervising and training peers/adults Excellent classroom and people management skills with both campers and adultsAbility to give and receive directionCreating rapport with all staff to maintain a trusting and cohesive work environmentWilling to serve as the first point of contact for camp leaders and familiesProvide support and offer mentorship for leaders and volunteersEducate and train camp leaders on lesson planning, camp management, and conflict resolutionDevelop trust and respect with administration and staff to create a positive camp atmosphereDiscreet and tactful with sensitive information High degree of professionalismAble to work well in a team and independently Communications and Reporting: Communicate with parents/guardians about their child’s experience at camp and address concerns as required Train staff in best practices of inclusion and follow inclusion processes Discuss camper accommodations and strategies with parents/guardiansAnswer phone, email, and in-person inquiries and communicate with campers, parents/guardians, and staff in a professional and friendly mannerOrganize records and input sensitive data according to SAIT policiesEdit, organize, and distribute camp information to staff, parents, and campers on a regular basisAssist with various office and administration tasksSupervising Children/Youth: Provide support for campers in one-on-one, and both small and large group settings Mediate conflict with integrity and consistency Substitute as needed for ill/absent camp leaders Help provide a safe, healthy environment for campers to thrive Demonstrated experience working with children who have varying needs Emergency Response: React and adapt quickly to emergency situations involving youthDisplay a strong ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectivelyWhat you bringMust be 18 years of age or older Valid Standard First Aid/CPR – CCriminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector SearchCurrent driver’s license and access to a vehicle (preferred) Minimum 3 years working in a summer camp setting with progressively more leadership responsibilitiesDiploma or degree related to education, child studies, recreation preferred but not requiredExperience working with online registration systems is requiredDirect experience with Campbrain would be considered an assetExperience in Coding and/or 3D printing is preferredExperience using Excel in a professional setting is requiredPunctual and able to adapt to a changing schedule is a mustBasic skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to work evenings or weekends when necessary to meet the needs of programs and the larger Youth Initiatives team.Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
