Intermediate Architectural TechnologistToronto, OntarioConfidential Federal Public Sector ProjectFull-Time | On-Site (Project Phase), then later Hybrid work modelTHE COMPANYThis is a rare chance to be part of a highly secure, high-profile Federal Government project at the design and technical delivery stage. This firm are well established and have some excellent projects in the pipeline for 2026.THE ROLEYou’ll be embedded with an integrated project team working out of a purpose-built, on-site project office that brings together designers, consultants, contractors, and the client under one roof. For approximately 12 months, this role will be fully on-site to support the intensive design and documentation phase of the project. Once this phase is complete, the position will transition onto other public-sector projects with a flexible hybrid work model.If you’re an experienced Architectural Technologist / Designer who thrives in technically complex environments, enjoys collaborative problem-solving, and wants exposure to confidential public-sector work that few professionals ever get access to — this is it.As part of the architectural team, you’ll translate design intent into clear, buildable solutions and play a key role in delivering a technically robust set of construction documents.Your responsibilities will include:Developing and refining detailed architectural drawings and technical packages that meet quality, schedule, and budget targets - using RevitContributing to all phases of design, from early programming through detailed documentationConducting code analysis, systems research, and material investigationsCoordinating layouts, details, and assemblies with engineering disciplinesReviewing shop drawings, consultant submissions, and technical deliverablesSupporting permit submissions and responding to authority commentsWorking closely with contractors and consultants to resolve constructability and coordination issuesParticipating in site reviews and addressing technical challenges as they ariseWhat You Bring6–10 years of professional experience on architectural projectsStrong background in public-sector or institutional projects (government/federal preferred, or institutional, cultural, civic, etc.) preferred. Only residential or industrial experience will not be considered.Advanced proficiency in Revit (this role is hands-on and production-focused)Solid understanding of building codes, construction methods, and building systems in CanadaExperience coordinating with multiple disciplines and stakeholdersPost-secondary education in Architecture or a related fieldRegistration (or eligibility) with a professional architectural association is an assetReliability clearance preferred or ability to obtain it (mandatory - this requires a background check dating back 10 years - if this too difficult to obtain due to partial experience/history being in overseas countries where capacity to obtain is limited, then it won't move forward).WHAT TO DO NOWIf this opportunity aligns with your experience and career goals, please apply with your resume including projects you have worked on.
