Details: Expression of Interest - Specialty Teaching Contracts FRENCH The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is the largest centre for education in Atlantic Canada with approximately 11,000 full-time, part-time and casual employees. Serving close to 60,000 students in 136 schools, our geographic region spans a 350 km radius. HRCE is inviting qualified French Teachers interested in opportunities for the 2026-27 school year to apply to this expression of interest, particularly in French Immersion Secondary Math. Contracts are with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, and contract recipients will be eligible to apply in the Spring (timelines and processes will be shared in advance) to specific positions in order to secure a French Teaching position within one of our 136 schools for September 2026. Current positions for the remainder of 2025-26 school year continue to be posted and open for application under the French Teaching Position category at myHRCE.ca/jobs Teachers who meet the following criteria may be eligible for a contract: Bachelors Degree in Education French Second Language Methods training Satisfactory French Proficiency Interview (FPI) through the HRCEs French Program Department:Candidates will be assessed in both oral and written language skills and must be approved for French Immersion. If you have not already completed an interview or need to be rescreened please submit your request for an FPI at the following link - HRCEFPI. Nova Scotia Teachers Certificate:Candidates must be eligible for a NS Teachers Certificate through the Office of Teacher Certification with the NS Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) - (Contracts are conditional on recipients submitting necessary documents to the EECD and successful receipt of a NS Teachers Certificate) Applications are reviewed regularly and candidates may be contacted prior to the posting close date. The following documentation must be included with your application (uploaded into resume): HRCE French Proficiency Interview results (emailed to candidate after completion of FPI).
