Murphy's Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support our expanding finance team. In this role you will work closely with the Corporate Controller to carry out month-end close procedures, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, conduct regular financial analysis, and adapt to evolving reporting requirements across the group of companies. Company Pension Plan with matching contributions up to 4% of annual salary Subsidized fitness membership And more Key responsibilities: Manage month-end close activities for your assigned companies.Prepare month-end journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and prepaid adjustments.Maintain complete supporting documentation for all month-end schedules and account reconciliations.Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages for review by the Corporate Controller.Conduct variance analysis and monitor cashflows, as needed.Ensure tax compliance for your assigned companies, including preparing and filing HST remittances and corporate tax installments.Prepare and finalize year-end working papers and documentation for external accountants during our annual review.Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of accounting processes across the group of companies.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements: Accounting Designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or CA) or extensive experience with month-end close procedures and financial reportingMinimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.Understanding of cost centres used for management reporting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to work both independently and as a team to meet month-end reporting deadlines.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Considered an Asset: Experience with Sage 300 and Sage IntelligencePast employment at a public accounting firm, preparing year-end filesPrevious experience working with another pharmacy group Sound Interesting?
