Responsibilities also include ensuring staffing levels are adequate to meet patient census. The Leader Patient Flow Operations will supervise nursing staff, and coordinate all hospital and bed utilization activities in the absence of hospital administration. The Leader Patient Flow Operations works collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners and service providers to apply strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges with the ultimate goal of high quality, safe and cost-effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome. The Leader Patient Flow Operations exhibits sound professional judgement and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Health Services Program and the Mission, Vision and Strategic Direction of the NSH.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following: Baccalaureate degree in nursingRegistered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of NursingMinimum of three (3) years medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care settingMinimum of two (2) years’ nursing management experienceBCLS requiredACLS is an assetDemonstrated leadership, planning, organization and time management skillsAbility to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations in dealing with patients, visitors and other health professionalsAbility and knowledge to match utilization needs to resources availableAbility to perform duties that involve lifting, bending and stretchingCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPermanent Full-time position, 75 Hours Bi-WeeklyCompensation and Benefits$40.95 - $54.41 hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.  Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
