Why Koch-Glitsch?Canada-wide travel opportunitiesDynamic and exciting working environmentsGreat working cultureAbility to be a part of a unique and diverse teamOpportunity to learn and grow professionallyResponsibilities:As a Junior QC Inspector, you will perform quality planning, inspections and reporting on small scope projects or assist a QC Lead on larger projects to perform inspections.Performing quality control activities on pressure vessels, mass transfer equipment, combustion equipment, and pressure piping, including development and execution of field inspection plansPerform visual and physical checks on final welds, flange assembly and equipment installationComply and ensure compliance with project documents, welding procedures, ASME, CSA Codes, customer specifications. Material receiving and inspection Review and approve Material Test Reports, Non-Destructive Inspection reports, etc.Oversight of subcontracted NDEEnsure relevant information has been accurately recorded such as welder ID, NDE and redlining.Expectations:100% complianceProfessional and effective communicationSelf-driven, organized and proactiveManaging multiple stakeholders and developing relationships with Site ManagersUtilizing best practices with regards to privacy and proprietary informationRequirements:High School diploma or equivalent CWB Level 1 certification with 2+ years of experience in pressure equipment repair and alteration in field and shutdowns. Familiarity, ability to access relevant information and interpret provincial (ABSA) regulations, ASME, CSA codes.Familiarity with non-destructive examination, welding methods, flange inspection and assemblyGood understanding of welding procedures and performance qualification variables.Understand engineering drawings – GA, assembly drawings, ISO and P&IDsComfortable working in MS SharePoint environment and good proficiency with MS Office softwareEffective written and verbal communication skillsHealth and safety consciousPreferred QualificationsExperience working with BlueBeam Revu and similar markup softwareGood planning, organizing and leadership skillsWelding / pipe fitting trades OR degree / diploma in welding technologyPhysical RequirementsCandidates must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week for extended durations.Candidates also must be able to work in confined spaces and be capable of climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working at heights.Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing is required. Additional medical examinations, such as Fitness for Duty exams may be required per client guidelines. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful.Work EnvironmentThe job will primarily be on or around construction/turnaround sites in petrochemical operational units and include possible hazardous environments such as confined spaces and working at heights. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, irritants, and smoke may occur. Special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary to control some hazardous environments. Additional forms of PPE may be required depending on the particular project. Safety requirements must be verified and meet standards set forth by client permits, policies and procedures, and be performed in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws or ordinances before work activities can begin.If you have the above qualifications, we would like to hear from you.
