As our growth creates new career opportunities, likely there is the right one for youMission Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is hiring a seasonal labourer for our operations. This is a unionized position based in Prince Rupert, BC.Main ResponsibilitiesGeneral labourer duties associated with road construction operationsRequired ability to shovel, rake and handle other small toolsResponsible for maintaining the quality of the mat by filling holes, raking, sweeping and get it ready for the rolling operation.Responsible for ensuring all the necessary tools are ready to go on the appropriate trucks for the day ahead.Aid the paver operator, screed operator, roller operator and foreman to enable them to focus on their jobs.Assist in keeping all the equipment fueled, watered, greased, and cleanedOperate equipment as neededYard, plant and equipment clean up as neededSignal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materialsFollow instructions from supervisor/managerPerform other adhoc duties as requiredQualifications/ExperienceClass 5 Drivers License or equivalent preferredJunior position, no experience requiredWorking ConditionsOvertime as requiredWork is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphaltMust be physically able to work general labourMust be physically able to repetitively lift and carry 50 LBS as neededUse of personal protection equipment is requiredMust comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirementsCompensation DataThe anticipated wage for this position is $42.34/hour.
