Healthcare Security Officers - Twilingate ($500 Signing Bonus)Join our Healthcare Security Team at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre**This position is eligible for a $500 signing bonus to be awarded following a successful probation period.   Site Description:The main hospital in Twillingate is called Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre. It's a 49-bed facility with both long-term care and acute care beds, as well as an outpatient departmentPosition: CasualSite: Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre & surrounding areaHours: Continental RotationPayrate: $19.90Posting Date: January 13, 2026Internal Closing Date: February 26, 2026External Closing Date: February 26, 2026Key responsibilities:Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standardsPrerequisites:Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)Tuberculosis (TB) Screening: All healthcare workers must undergo assessment for tuberculosis.Vaccination Documentation: Proof of completion of the full series of childhood/primary vaccinations is required.Tdap Vaccine: One dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine is required upon reaching 18 years of age.Booster Requirement: A booster dose of tetanus toxoid-reduced diphtheria toxoid (Tdap) is required every 10 yearsValid Class 5 Driver License & must be willing to take shifts at sites within a reasonable driving distance. English (oral and written) fluency is a mustPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availabilityApplicants without these may complete Paladin’s UoF/MOAB pre-hire trainingTraining is unpaid; Paladin covers costs with a 6-month commitment
