This role involves hands-on fieldwork, project execution, and collaboration with a highly skilled team on critical electrical assets such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, protective relays, and grounding systems.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Testing & Maintenance: Perform testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on low, medium, and high-voltage equipment.System Inspections: Inspect and test switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, cables, and related systems.Industry Compliance: Ensure adherence to standards such as CSA, IEEE, and NFPA.Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to complete projects on time, safely, and within scope.Safety & Quality: Follow strict safety protocols and BCES QA/QC processes.Documentation: Complete and document test results, reports, and recommendations.Leadership: Supervise complex testing and commissioning projects, leading teams in troubleshooting, repair, and system integration tasks.Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on complex diagnostics and solutions.Collaboration with Engineering: Work alongside engineering teams on specialized studies and project planning.Qualifications & SkillsEducation: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (required).Certifications: NETA Certification or equivalent experience (e.g., NICET, utility or OEM training).Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical testing standards (CSA, NFPA, IEEE).Equipment Proficiency: Experience using testing equipment such as Doble Power Factor sets, TTR testers, circuit breaker analyzers, and relay test sets.Communication & Organization: Strong communication and organizational skills.Travel: A valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
