About the role

The Superintendent IT role offers the opportunity to take ownership for ensuring the reliable and continued operation, performance, and availability of IT at Evolution Mining's Red Lake Operations (RLO). You will be responsible for strategic IT development, service management, problem resolution, including continuity, capacity and disaster recovery planning to support future business needs.  

The roster will be 5 days on, 2 days off and 4 days on and 3 days off – 9.5 hour shifts.

Residential is preferred, with housing support by Taxable Benefits and relocation support available, however the role is eligible for a hybrid arrangement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage a technical team in the delivery of effective support for IT ensuring it delivers to operational requirements and agreed services levels
• Development and management of RLO IT procedures including maintaining alignment with Group IT Policies, Guidelines and Standards
• Develop and maintain an IT strategy to guide investment planning and budgeting
• Develop and maintain the IT annual operating budget and project capital plans, ensuring the delivery of the work is in accordance with approved budgets
• Establish effective site support services and processes (hardware and software) for all IT systems
• Maintain and administer a lifecycle management plan for the IT systems and infrastructure
• Maintain a high standard of security for all information systems to mitigate the risk of Cybersecurity events
• Lead and collaborate with business units on the selection, installation and use of systems and technology
• Manage the performance, pricing and agreements of third-party suppliers and vendors in the delivery of IT
• Work collaboratively with Group IT to simplify and standardize IT solutions
• Develop and provide required training programs for end-users
• Lead daily meetings to discuss the planning of IT systems task prioritization with the IT team
• Promote a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation's goal of being accident-free
• Adhere to all relevant Evolution values, behaviours, standards, policies, and procedures.

About you

As the Superintendent IT, you will have a post-secondary degree or certificate/diploma in the Computer Technology or Technology related field.

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

• Minimum 10 years of progressive systems support experience preferably in a mid-to-large network environment
• Minimum 3 years in the management of an IT team in a mid to large mining or industrial environment
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience managing and administering mining or industrial systems.
• Extensive knowledge of network, system, server, storage and cyber technologies to provide the best level of support to manage the infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management and delivery on time and budget
• Ability to disseminate complex technical issues to engage in clear and concise communication with key stakeholders
• Ability to mitigate the risk of cybersecurity events
• Collaborative team mindset
• Strong leadership behaviours
• Excellent management skills and personal interaction capabilities.
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills
• Lateral thinking and problem resolution skills
• Show a high degree of commitment and work ethic
