Topics include an understanding of sport organizations and governing bodies, the economics of sport, financial management of sport organizations, designing and administrating sports competitions. The course uses a practical approach by focusing on local, provincial and national sport organizations as case studies for analysis. Estimated TA support: N/A Estimated course enrolment: 60 Class schedule: W 16:00-19:00Plus 3 hours of ASYNC online modules Sessional dates of appointment: May 1, 2026 - June 30, 2026 Appointment percentage: 0.5 FCE Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,820.70Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term - $10,510.04Sessional Lecturer II - $10,510.04Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term - $10,760.28Sessional Lecturer III - $10,760.28Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term - $11,030.35 Minimum Qualifications: PhD preferred in a relevant area, or combination of relevant expertise and experience. Teaching experience in college or university setting is an asset. Description of duties: All duties associated with the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TAs assigned to the course, if applicable. This course will be taught online.
