Apply today to join our teamAs a Medical Radiation Technologist, you will:Perform diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging procedures/techniques and related duties, observing safe radiation protection practices.Receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the radiology information system, prepare patients for examination, operate radiographic and computerized imaging equipment including processing radiographs and archiving of acquired data, monitoring patients during procedures, monitoring equipment performance, and maintaining cleanliness of examination rooms.ABOUT BELLA COOLA, BCBella Coola sits in a mountain valley at the head of the North Bentinck Channel, 500 km north of Vancouver, with a population of about 1800 people. The community is at the end of a long, truly magnificent fjord, on the mainland coast of British Columbia. Bella Coola General Hospital has 10 acute bed, 5 long term care beds and a 3 bed emergency department open 24/7, along with a laboratory, diagnostic imaging services, Telehealth, Mental Health, Public Health, Home & Community Support Services. Also within the hospital are a medical clinic and a pharmacy. Qualifications Education & ExperienceCurrent registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.Knowledge & AbilitiesBroad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, co-workers, physicians, and other health care staff, and staff of external agencies.Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.Demonstrated computer skills including the ability to effectively use a computerized client care information systemPhysical ability to perform the duties of the position. Closing Statement The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
