Job Description Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. As an intern or co-op student through our EXCEL (Exploring Careers through Experiential Learning) Program you will gain hands-on career specific experiences to maximize your real world potential.The Role:As the Maintenance Group Leader, you are responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment You may lead all aspects of a medium size group of employees in a skilled area of work which requires making decisions based on established procedure. Also, work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of the Global Manufacturing System (GMS); focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE)Key Responsibilities:You will conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of resultsRecommends solutions to problemsResponsible for preventative maintenance, and diagnosis of equipment malfunctionsMeets schedule and quality requirementsAligns with the terms of local and national labour agreementsImplements divisional and corporate policies, and safety and good housekeeping practicesMaintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work groupResponsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipmentEstablishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project, and the knowledge and ability to implement GMS principlesAdditional Responsibilities:Develop a proactive safety culture by engaging team members and peers in our safety processesUnderstood and effective use of GMSComplete safety incident investigations, and develop permanent corrective actionProvide Leadership to Skilled Trades, and provide supervision and direction to contractors when requiredManage Equipment issues and Equipment Breakdowns, and develop permanent corrective actionDevelop improvements to standard tasks using SOP’s, STS’s, Maximo, and Task Instruction SheetsLead/Participate in continuous improvement eventsActively support Departmental meetings (Safety, TIP, Quality, etc)Support Production department in organizational change eventsHandle staffing levels for your GroupCreate new PMs, Maintenance PM process and PM scrubbingNew employee orientationRequired Qualifications:Pursuit of a Bachelor's (3rd or 4th year) or Graduate degree in one of the following areas: Engineering (ex. Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Chemical, etc), BusinessEligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada and for 8, 12, or 16-month term (2-4 consecutive semesters) starting May 2026Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible hours (shift work, weekends, and overtime to meet business needs)YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN A CO-OP OR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AND MEET THE PROGRAM’S ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.
