Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Physiotherapist reports to the Program Manager and as a member of a clinical team, the physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and pain management. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Masters's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited universityMembership with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy (Provincial licensing body)Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)Thorough knowledge of Physiotherapy practice, with an interest in program development and evaluation skillsExperience in motivational interviewing and facilitating health behaviour change is an assetEffective teaching and patient education skillsDemonstrated accountabilityEffective promotion of patient self-management skillsStrong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationshipsDemonstrated collaboration and teamwork skillsCommitment to continuous improvement and innovationDemonstrated leadership abilitiesDemonstrated planning, organization and time management skillsCommitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational healthCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredPlease ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPart Time Long Assignment; 52.5 hours bi-weeklyApproximately 18 month term; Dates are subject to changeCompensation and Benefits$38.43 - $50.99 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
