Req ID: 214445Location: Eastern Zone, Cape Breton Regional Hospital  Department: OPEZ Occupational Therapy Phys Med CBRType of Employment: Permanent Hourly FT (100%) x 1 UNIFOR Healthcare PositionPosting Closing Date: 5-Jan-26About the OpportunityThe Occupational Therapist works under the supervision of the Manager.  The Occupational Therapist (OT) works in collaboration with the client, caregivers and family to facilitate, restore and/or maintain the patient/clients optimal level of function in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure.  The OT provides consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation and follow-up while working within the hospital, the client's home and/or their community.  The OT, in collaboration with the client, establishes individualized treatment plans and goals independently manage a busy caseload and use clinical judgement and decision-making skills to prioritize issues on a daily basis.  Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.  The OT provides education and support to clients, families and caregivers.  The OT functions as both a member of an occupational therapy clinical team and a multidisciplinary hospital and/or community healthcare team.  The OT contributes to the clinical education of OT students and related health disciplines and for supervision of OT Assistants.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Occupational TherapyLicensure with the provincial regulatory body, Nova Scotia Occupational Therapy Regulator, is mandatoryBLS-CExcellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients/clients, families, other health care providers and staffCommitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational healthAbility to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervisingAbility to be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facilityMust be able to work alone or with team members in all service settingsCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPermanent, Full-Time Position (100%); 75 Hours Bi-weeklyMay be required to work weekendsTravel to other sites is required and must have access to a reliable vehicleCompensation and Benefits$38.43 - $50.99 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.    Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
