Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently searching for a Health Economics Lead. Description: The main purpose of this role is co-creation, coordination and follow-up to full localisation of health economic models in support of pricing and reimbursement submissions to maximize product value and optimize patient access. This may also include, when appropriate, the new model development if the global model is not available or not applicable for localisation. A key responsibility is to develop Health Economic (HE) strategies and tactics that are evidence based, scientifically and technically valid, medically relevant and are of clinical, humanistic, and economical importance. These tactics will address the needs of local HTA, payers, patients, health care providers, policy makers and regulators in line with the affiliate value strategy plans and brand plans. Additional expectations are related to effective monitoring of the constantly changing healthcare and economic landscape to anticipate and address potential impact on the business, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, as per affiliate value strategy plans. Essential Job Duties: Contribute pro-actively to co-create, formulate, consolidate, and implement Affiliate HE strategies and perspectives for integration within the affiliate value strategy plans and brand plans Continuously strengthen in depth knowledge of Astellas products/disease states for assigned products Responsible for successful execution of all HE activities and deliverables for assigned products within affiliate and to ensure these are delivered with high quality and within timelines and budget Ensure effective support to affiliate brand team(s) to ensure timely communication, strong collaboration, transparency and full understanding of HE strategy and tactics, as part of affiliate value strategy plan(s). Support Affiliate HE business objectives and budgetary plans with a 3–5-year perspective through HE synthesis, dissemination, communication and refinement Ensure strong working relationship with market access and local brand teams, especially related to timely execution on RWE needs in support of achieving optimal pricing and reimbursement conditions for our brands Lead effective collaborations with other relevant internal stakeholders, understanding brand needs and developing and implementing strategies that address these needs at the affiliate level Ensure close and effective collaboration with Astellas Health Economics Centre of Excellence, exchange of relevant information as well as supporting cross country, payer archetype projects; identify collaborative opportunities, ensure optimal alignment, leverage resources, and support business priorities and patient access Actively monitor the changing healthcare landscape to identify emerging country HE trends, emerging new methodologies and best practices to inform HE strategies, represent Astellas / Affiliate at external HE conferences and meetings Support preparation and coordination for HTA/payer early scientific advice (if applicable), preparations for mock negotiations, and objection handling in Affiliate Keeping abreast of industry ‘best practice’ and adopt a ‘continuous improvement’ approach within Astellas to establish a culture of compliance. Appropriately challenge and proactively raise concerns in a timely manner with the relevant manager(s) including within the Healthcare Compliance team and/or to the Ethics Helpline.
