Physician Emergency Medicine Department Head

Other collaborative education programs include the Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board-accredited Horizon Pharmacy Residency Program, the Clinical Psychology Residency Program, The Moncton Hospital Post Graduate Dietetic Internship Program, and The Moncton Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and the Saint John School of Radiological Technology. Working in close collaboration with the Senior Medical Executive Director and the Emergency Room Site Lead, and in alignment with the Corporation’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities, the Emergency Medical Department Head is accountable for the leadership and management of one of the hospital’s most high-profile and heavily utilized services—the Emergency Department. The role encompasses oversight of physician management, scheduling, and performance within local facilities, ensuring seamless, high-quality emergency care delivery. The Department Head will bring creativity, adaptability, and strong clinical leadership to guide physicians in delivering patient-centred care within a collaborative, team-based environment. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished and dynamic leader with a demonstrated passion for emergency medicine and a clear understanding of the Emergency Department’s role within the broader organization. They will possess the ability to effectively balance clinical priorities with corporate objectives. The successful candidate will be a respected medical leader and physician in good standing with the College, eligible for credentialing within the department. They will foster strong, collaborative relationships within the department and with medical and corporate leaders across the organization, always prioritizing excellence in patient care and the provider experience. In partnership with their dyad counterpart, they will align departmental needs with organizational resources and demands, maintaining a strong focus on quality, timely access to care, operational flow, and consistency of service across all sites.
