Sales Associates have an emphasis on department and product knowledge, provide information on product features and are familiar with related items in order to sell an entire project. Associates in this position know how to greet, engage, and thank every customer in their department and know how to provide basic service in adjacent departments. Sales Associates are focused on customer service and finding and solving customer needs.Key Responsibilities:Ensures Customer SatisfactionFollowing Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customerActively seek customers throughout the store and escort customers to appropriate merchandise, regardless of departmentAsk open ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertisePromote services offered such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services, etc. and how to recommend themDrives SalesDiscuss available options (good, better, best) and suggest related items/services outside of department that the customer may needEducate customers about the whole projectUsing empowerment program when necessary to satisfy customersExecute daily stock maintenance: all products signed, displayed, and cleanBuilds Skills and KnowledgeMaintain knowledge of all products in department and adjacent departmentsProactively seek knowledge on all products and servicesMaintains Safety and SecurityFollows all safety policies and procedures, Loss Prevention policies and proceduresCompetencies:Communicates EffectivelyCustomer FocusSkills:Interpersonal SkillsDirect Manager/Direct Reports:Department SupervisorTravel Requirements:No travel requirementsPhysical Requirements:Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving itemsWorking Conditions:Working within a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekendsWarehouse environment that can be dusty and noisyDoors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changesMinimum Education:High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum Years of Work Experience:1 to 2 years Retail or Trade experience an assetMinimum Leadership Experience:NACertifications:NAOther Requirements/Assets:NAThe pay range for this position is between $ - $
