We are committed to working together and to getting everyone home safe every day.THE OPPORTUNITY:Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for an Instrumentation Technician, based out of the Estevan, SK office. REPORTS TO: Instrumentation Coordinator WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:Monitoring, benchmarking and evaluating technology and field instruments to ensure proper operation, continuous improvements and reliability.Coordinating and effecting the monitoring, installation, service, and reconditioning of a variety of equipment, instruments, and control systems.Performing repairs, installations, and any work required to set up, align or otherwise prepare for operation. Performing operational checks, monitoring performance, troubleshoot and related maintenance to identify and diagnose process and equipment issues.Optimizing performance of equipment by monitoring the effectiveness and making corrective recommendations regarding instrumentation and electronic performance problemsCoordinate and oversee field activities/installations being performed by other contractors.Participate in upgrades of existing facilities (e.g. injection/disposal well conversions, battery improvements, etc.).Other related duties as required.WHAT YOU NEED:High School Diploma or equivalentInstrumentation Technician Trade Certificate or Diploma is considered an assetValid class 5 driver’s licenseOil and Gas experience considered an assetKnowledge in the following areas:Instrument/electrical maintenance and repairPLC’s and HMI’s with ability to read programming codeVFD’s and related control wiring schemesCommunication protocols and related wiring, TCP/IP, ControlNet, Modbus, CANBusIndustrial Radio communications systems, namely in the 900Mhz and 5.2Ghz rangeWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Accountability for accuracy and high quality of workHigh level of attention to detailStrong communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to make sound decisions under pressureStrong team player Safety conscious OTHER DETAILS:This position is primarily field based, and the successful incumbent must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and remote locationsRequired to participate in the on-call schedule for emergency situations or after-hours breakdowns or repairs Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentWork under pressure with tight deadlinesAbility to workover time as necessaryTundra Oil & Gas Limited is committed to protecting the health and safety of all individuals involved in our business activities, and the communities where we live and work.
