Mental Health Clinician

SUMMARY: As an essential member ofour Street Reach North team, the Mental Health Clinician plays a pivotal role in providing expert care, support, and therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and who are identified as youth who are at high risk of sexual exploitation or already have been victims of exploitation. This role is integral to fostering emotional well-being and helping youth navigate their personal journeys.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:In Consultation with local services: oConduct thorough psychological assessments and evaluationsoMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationoCoordinate care with other healthcare providers and support staffoOffer crisis intervention services when necessaryoStay updated with the latest research and best practices in mental health treatmentoParticipate in case conferences and team meetingsoAdvocate for client needs and rights within the systemsoAll other duties as outlined on the job descriptionQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS oMaster's or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related fieldoLicensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certificationoExperience with diverse populations and range of mental health issuesoSpecialized training in trauma-informed careoExperience working with sexually exploited youthoStrong crisis intervention skillsoMinimum of 4 years of clinical experienceoStrong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment methodologiesoExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsoAbility to maintain professional boundaries and confidentialityoStrong organizational and time management skillsoProficiency in standard office software such as Microsoft Office SuiteCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT There is also an option for applicants from the South to work in Thompson on a rotational basis — one week in, followed by one week off at home.Must have excellent physical and emotional health. Valid 5F Driver's License is required due to frequent travel within and surrounding areas of Thompson, MB Must have Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C and De-escalation training. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and acceptable Prior Contact checks Knowledge of Indigenous beliefs, customs, languages and traditions considered an asset.
