As part of the Mine Geology team, you will be responsible for collecting, interpreting and providing geological information to the engineering, resource and mining departments to enhance the operation through ensuring confidence of ore extraction at RLO. The roster will be 5 days on, 2 days off and 4 days on, 3 days off (9.5 hours). This is a local residential role. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. Key result areas will include: Ensure daily ore production data is accurately reported and validated. Responsible for mapping development headings to RLO standards and communicate changes in mineralization, ground conditions /adverse structures that may affect mining and grade control to rock mechanics and mining departments. Visit stopes and monitor tonnage movements to help identify reasons for overbreak and grade variances.  Provide geological interpretations of ore domains and lithologies to engineering and resource departments to be used for mine planning and resource estimation. Plan, monitor and review grade control diamond drill programs and log drill core to RLO standards. Monitor and review diamond drill progress, hole deviations and complete diamond drill rig inspections. Update active geology model ore domains and lithologies when all mapping, logging, surveys and assays are returned and approved. Ensure quality control is maintained on all geological data including maintain databases and analysing data for production and reconciliation purposes. Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free. Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.   About you As the Geologist Mine, you will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Earth Sciences. It is also important that you have/can demonstrate: 2+ years previous experience in underground mining geology. Strong geological and structural mapping skills and sampling best practices. Solid comprehension of how to target, design and manage diamond drill programs. Review block models and communicate ways to minimize geological risk. Working knowledge of Microsoft suite: Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Advanced skills in Leapfrog, Deswik, AcQuire, and Datamine would be beneficial. Thorough working knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards. Adapts well to constant change. Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Learns and adapts quickly to new software. Strong will to learn and develop. Self-starter demonstrating motivation and initiative. The ability to deliver results according to agreed plans.
