Senior Revenue Accountant

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client—a globally recognized name in data, analytics, and technology—for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their Toronto-based finance team on a 6-month contract.As a key player in the accounting group, you’ll take the lead on revenue accounting operations, contribute to high-impact projects, and work cross-functionally to ensure financial integrity and accuracy across the board.This is your opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, globally connected organization where your expertise will drive results.Advantages-Work with a globally respected brand-Onsite collaboration at a major corporate office: Toronto, ON-Exposure to US GAAP, ASC 606, and high-level financial reporting-Lead cross-functional finance initiatives-Partner with top-tier teams including FP&A, Shared Services, and Senior Management-Gain valuable experience in contract review and multi-element revenue structuresResponsibilities-Lead revenue accounting for Canadian operations in alignment with US GAAP and ASC 606-Manage the accounting for revenue-generating projects and provide monthly reports, commentaries, and variance analysis to senior leadership-Oversee sales contract reviews and advise on accounting implications for new opportunities-Review and approve monthly commission payments-Support FP&A with forecasting, budgeting, and material contract reviews-Manage customer invoices and authorization workflows-Drive rebate and royalty accounting processes-Provide guidance on revenue recognition, rebates, discounts, and other accounting treatments-Participate in multi-functional business initiatives and process improvementsQualificationsMust-Haves-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance-Professional accounting designation: CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA-5+ years of management accounting experience, preferably in a mid to large organization-In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition)-Proven experience with foreign currency accounting-Demonstrated ability to review and interpret complex, multi-element contracts and master agreements-Proficiency in Oracle Financials-Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modelingNice-to-Haves-Experience working for a global corporation-Background in collaborating with an offshore shared service center-Working knowledge of Hyperion and Essbase-Exposure to the rebates and royalties accounting process-Familiarity with commission structures and sales operations accountingSummaryWe’re seeking a high-caliber Senior Revenue Accountant for a 3-month contract with one of the most recognized names in the finance and data analytics sector.
