Your Role as Environmental Engineer
As an Environmental Engineer, you will lead and execute environmental projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while supporting clients in achieving their sustainability goals. This role requires a strong technical background in environmental assessments, regulatory processes, and fieldwork related to air, water, and soil quality.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Lead and support environmental studies, including baseline assessments, environmental impact assessments (EIA), and permitting applications.
- Develop and implement environmental management strategies, plans, and best practices for sustainable operations.
- Conduct field investigations, including air, water, and soil sampling, and oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal environmental regulations, preparing technical reports and applications for regulatory approvals.
- Oversee environmental monitoring programs and mitigation plans for industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to develop environmental solutions that align with project goals.
- Provide technical guidance on waste management, mine water management, and reclamation initiatives.
- Support business development activities by identifying opportunities and assisting with proposal preparation.Maintain a safe and efficient work environment during field activities and office-based project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Eight years of experience in environmental consulting, preferably in the mining or industrial sectors.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) designation in Ontario or eligibility for registration in Ontario is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance requirements in Canada.
- Experience in environmental modeling, GIS applications, and data analysis tools is an asset.
- Excellent project management skills, including scope development, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel for site visits and fieldwork.
Term: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours/week)
