Salary: $74 700 - $88 000 Vacation: 5 weeks per year Benefits: Group insurance (including dental care), virtual care, lifestyle spending account (all available after 3 months of service) Contact: (819) 975-4654, career@nordquantique.ca Supervisor: Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Team lead Our current needs As we scale up our quantum processors and supporting infrastructure, we are seeking a skilled and self-driven Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Team. This role focuses on the CAD of the cryogenic dilution refrigerators setups, 3D resonator cavities and their assemblies. In this position, you will play a key role in improving the modularity and connectivity of our designs and contribute to the scaling effort for our cryogenic systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop CAD designs of 3D cavities, ensuring mechanical precision, thermal performance, and compatibility with cryogenic environments and create technical drawings for fabrication. Explore designs and manufacturing techniques in cavity designs to improve the scalability of our technology. Design and document the cryogenic mechanical setups for dilution refrigerator systems. Maintain and organize CAD libraries, revision control, and documentation to support long-term system scaling and reproducibility. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Quantum Hardware, and Nanofabrication) to iterate on designs. Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and development partners to support machining, sourcing, and integration activities. This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced, research-driven environment, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to the advancement of scalable quantum hardware. Education and experience requirements: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4 years of CAD design experience OR Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 2 years of CAD design experience. Industry experience with a proven track record in interdisciplinary R&D teams. Sought expertise and knowledge: Experience in CAD modeling and assembly design for precision mechanical systems, using Solidworks, Onshape or other advanced CAD software Demonstrated creativity and ability to optimize designs for scalability and repeatability to improve part performance Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles Excellent ability to deliver results within tight deadlines Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations is an asset Advanced level in English, to communicate with international team members Intermediate knowledge of French, an asset Sought profile: Great sense of autonomy and dependability Proficient in producing clear and concise technical reports Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external vendors, suppliers, and development partners Excellent organizational and prioritization skills focused on achieving company objectives Willingness to learn and explore new concepts Team-oriented mindset with a focus on cooperation and knowledge sharing within the team Nord Quantique is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in its training, workplaces, and activities.
