M. Walberg Carpentry Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Carpenter. It’s a full-time, permanent position, 40 hours/week, $35.00 - $37.00/hour (depending on experience). 4% paid vacation. Our business address is 6372 Fairway Drive, Whistler, BC, V8E 0C9, Canada. Start date: As soon as possible. Work location: Whistler and Pemberton, BC As a Carpenter, you will be expected to perform the following duties: • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood and other materials to construct or repair frameworks, structures, and fixtures. • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements. • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, stairs, cabinets, drywall, and siding, using hand and power tools. • Build foundations, floors, walls, roofs, and partitions using wood, steel studs, and other materials. • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures as needed. • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and job specifications during all phases of construction or repair. • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep work areas clean and organized. • Training construction helpers and assessing their progress. Requirements: • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Carpenter; • Must have completed high school; • Presentable, professional and with excellent work ethic; • Position is physically demanding; • Must be able to work under minimum supervision; • Must be able to work at heights, in confined, noisy, and/or dusty spaces; • Must be able to handle heavy loads; • Must have excellent problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organizing skills; • Must have own steel-toed boots and hard hat.
