We are set up for 100% remote work for individuals located in the province of Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. For individuals located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, there are hybrid (mix of on-site and remote) work opportunities.

 

Job Description 

LuminUltra currently has an opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity within an innovative and growing organization. 


This role will play a critical part within the Finance team by providing support with annual audit and tax documentation preparation, auditing employee expense reports, preparing bank and credit card reconciliation, and financial planning and reporting support for departmental managers. 


The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, detail-oriented, and highly dependable individual who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.


In this role, the Junior Accountant will have key responsibilities, such as: 

  • Prepare monthly recurring journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audit and tax support.
  • Prepare bank and credit card reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly VAT and EC sales reporting.
  • Audit employee expense reports.
  • Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations and consolidation entries. 
  • Provide financial planning and reporting support for departmental managers.
  • Participate in monthly and annual financial close processes.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Resourceful; able to solve problems and work independently. 
  • Proven experience being motivated, deadline-oriented, organized, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Experience working with Oracle Fusion, an asset.
  • Proficiency in French and English, an asset.
