We are seeking a full-time Decision Support Consultant. This role is crucial in providing financial and statistical analysis to support both clinical and non-clinical teams throughout the organization. Leveraging tools like Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Report Builder, and Power BI, the consultant helps inform critical operational and clinical decisions.
As part of the Decision Support Department, this position ensures that leaders have access to accurate, timely data to optimize patient care and organizational efficiency. The consultant’s strategic problem-solving and insights are key to maintaining high-quality services and effective decision-making throughout our large, complex organization.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update clinical and operational reports using SQL and SSRS Report Builder.
- Compile and analyze statistical information provided by private and public health care institutions and organizations and produce reports.
- Monitor and evaluate health care programs operated by government departments and agencies or private organizations.
- Provide consulting services to leaders within the organization.
- Respond to internal and external program and data-related requests.
- Educate individuals within the organization on indicator methodology and data interpretation.
Qualifications
Education:
- Undergraduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or Computer Programming.
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of experience with database report-writing tools such as SSRS, Power BI, and SQL.
- Experience with healthcare systems like Meditech, Med2020, CIHI, and OHRS/MIS is preferred.
Competencies:
- Proficiency with BI tools and report writers (e.g., SSRS and/or Power BI) required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, SSRS, and SQL is required
- Demonstrated project management and process improvement skills, from stakeholder engagement to change management
- An understanding of clinical, statistical, and financial information and how it influences healthcare funding models and impacts patient care
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff including physicians, patient service leaders; sub-contractors, Ministry representatives and various other internal/external client and stakeholder groups
- Sound organizational, planning, and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines are essential
- Advanced data management and statistical analysis skills, along with proficiency in quantitative analysis
- Demonstrated commitment to personal growth and development
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Able to contribute to an innovative organization
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team
