THE ROLE

The Electrician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and a working knowledge of electrical components. This position is based at the Dundas Plant and will focus on minimizing downtime and increasing productivity. The role will be rotating between day shift and afternoon shift.

Responsibilities

  • As part of the maintenance staff, you will focus on minimizing downtime and the implementation of a preventative maintenance program, equipment troubleshooting and hands-on corrective actions.
  • Responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance on processing equipment, minimizing downtime, and building repairs
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, case assemblies and other electrical components
  • Working on electrical systems from 110V to 600V
  • Knowledge in PLC5, RS logic, RS view, Allen Bradley controls, Panel View, Device Net & Ethernet with a strong background in installations and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge with VFD's, starters and other automation devices
  • Promote and comply with Health and Safety regulations

Requirements

  • Certified Electrician (442A or 309A) ticket required
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting, knowledge of P.L.C.'s and soft starts
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and soft starts will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
