PMI's planar motor technology won the gold award in Motors and Mechanical Motion Devices category by Design News in 2019 for its unprecedented flexibility, precision, intelligence, re-configurability, scalability and traceability. Planar motors are smart industry robots that use magnetic forces for levitation and propulsion with six degrees of freedom. Planar motor-based smart conveying systems are ideal for applications ranging from clean to harsh environments and is a disruptive technology transforming the manufacturing industry. Nowadays, our products are used in solar panel manufacturing, food and pharmaceutical product packaging.

As a Production Technician you will help assemble and test our movers (big magnets), stators (electromagnets) and other associated hardware.
- Assembling hardware (~40% of working hours)
- Operating and maintaining equipment used in assembly (~10%)
- Quality Assurance on incoming components (~20%)
- Testing finished products (~10%)
- Packaging finished products (~15%)
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment (~5%)
- Follow written and verbal instructions precisely
- Ask questions
- Have excellent manual dexterity and the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Expect high levels of quality from their work
- Have good written and spoken English-language communication skills
- Experience working with fasteners, epoxies, solder, or other assembly techniques
- A diploma or degree from a technical institute or college in a field related to mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering
- Work experience in an assembly environment
- Be eligible to work in Canada
You will be part of the production team, reporting to the production manager. The schedule is Monday to Friday, with start and end times being flexible. We are located in Richmond, British Columbia; the position is not remote.
