- Participate in the continuous improvement of our processes and systems, through, for example, the creation and maintenance of templates and precedents that assist the Department in its work for the Company
- A Law Degree from an accredited law school (LLB or Juris Doctor)
- Experience advising on Québec insurance regulatory matters
- Ability to communicate in both English and French
- Licensed to practice law as a lawyer in Canada
- Extensive experience advising businesses, either in-house with a regulated financial institution, in private practice, or with a Canadian financial services regulatory authority
- Excellent communication skills, including the capacity to communicate with business partners in the way they want to receive advice
- Adaptable and open to change
- Outstanding judgment, ability, discretion, and confidence to deal with complex issues, either alone or within a team, and to safeguard confidential information
- Ability to translate law into meaningful, pragmatic advice in a business context
- Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities
- Willingness to build strong relationships, and to collaborate with colleagues and business clients
- Exemplary professionalism and integrity
- Initiative-taker with a great attitude
What's in it for you?
- Hybrid work schedule for most roles

- Pension and savings programs, with company-matched RRSP contributions
- Paid volunteer days and company matching on charitable donations
- Educational resources, tuition assistance, and paid time off to study for exams
- Focus on inclusion with employee groups, support for gender affirmation surgery, access to BIPOC counsellors, access to programs for working parents
- Wellness and recognition programs
- Discounts on products and services
