
Material Control Lead Hand

Reporting to the Material Control Supervisor, the purpose of the Material Control Lead Hand within Enerflex Ltd. is to oversee and monitor the succesful operation of the various areas of Material Control. This includes timely and accurate receiving of parts and materials, successful tracking and delivery of material to and from the Production group, and helping oversee schedule-driven Project Shipping activities. The Material Control Lead Hand will also facilitate and participate in quarterly and annual inventory counts.
With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position is based out of the Enerflex’s Calgary Southeast facility.
Responsibilities and Duties- Work with warehouse staff to ensure we receive all incoming materials, verify quantity and condition to ensure accuracy in a timely fashion in line with a 24 hour completion expectation.
- Monitor SAP systems that are used to bin all materials and stock in designated location(s).
- Help manage schedules that drive how Material Control packs and assembles orders in a manner to ensure that the product is damage free and accurate when delivered to our internal customers.
- Work with Project Shipping to complete shipping documentation, contact and schedule pick-ups with common carriers. This may include generating and modifying Project Packing lists for equipment leaving the facility with our major projects.
- Participate in loading and unloading of shipments from inbound and outbound carriers as per established procedures.
- Facilitate and participate in quarterly and annual inventory counts. Ensure best practices are executed around Inventory management and control procedures, in line with a SOX controls system.
- Maintain yard security standards. Assist with yard mapping and material traceability records.
- Communicate safety topics and lead crew talks, updating employees on important information
- Adhere to established Enerflex safety guidelines and objectives and ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are upheld. This includes participation in the 5S Program and Continuous Improvement Initiative.
- Develop and sustain a professional and productive relationship with all internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with various internal customers to achieve maximum efficiency in Material processing and delivery.
- Assist with maintaining the Material Control Production board, updating daily and presenting monthly on a range of relevant topics including Safety, Quality, Cost, Deliveries, and People.
- Assist with the management and ordering of raw and consumable materials such as pipe, steel, fasteners, gaskets, fittings, bolts & nuts. This will include adjusting ordering levels to align with current workloads and ensuring the utilization of surplus materials.
- Assist with addressing a managed group inbox for Receiving requests via SAP that processes requests for most of Enerflex Canada.
- Assist with returns; coordinate with the buyers, engineers and material control for return to vendors.
- Comply with all company Health and Safety and Quality regulations and work procedures; identify safety risks.
Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and working knowledge of Lift Truck operation.
- Basic computer skills; working knowledge of Excel (Log books) and tracking tools (Internet, etc.).
- SAP experience considered an asset.
- Previous shipping/receiving work experience preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, identify priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated, well organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively with all branch departments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good visual comprehension with ability to accurately read and record long part numbers.
- Must be capable of heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Must be able to work flexible hours and available for potential overtime.
- Registered apprentice as Materials or Parts Technician considered an asset.
