ROLE

The executive producer has responsibilities both at the departmental level and related to the smooth operation of the productions for the accounts entrusted to them. They are the right hand of the production manager and a resource person for the production team. They possess in-depth knowledge of video production (including line producing), photography, post-production, and events, as well as management and mentoring skills. An inspiring leader and project initiator, they know how to rally people to collaborate towards a common goal. The executive producer works closely with the creative director, account director, and various creative teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the smooth operation and profitability of the projects of the department;
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills.
  • Mentor and guide teams regarding internal line production.
  • Act as a point of contact for APP, AQTIS, DGC, and ARRQ, and assist with administrative follow-ups if necessary.
  • Participate in client circle meetings (expertise leadership team) and other client-related meetings.
  • Ensure profitability of assigned accounts.
  • Be the entry point for new production projects on entrusted accounts.
  • Act as the guardian of the brand and client issues to provide informed production advice.
  • Present and guide the start of projects for their smooth execution: evaluate costs and feasibility of different concepts, oversee creation, and adjust production strategies.
  • Ensure the necessary resources or expertise are available to successfully complete projects for their accounts.
  • Supervise the work of producers assigned to the projects.
  • Manage and maintain visibility on the administrative reports of the accounts (financial and resource forecasting, budget reconciliation, completion reports, etc.).
  • Understand the MSAs (Master Service Agreements) of their accounts.
  • Guide creation in selecting suppliers and artisans participating in the production.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, artistic agents, and music publishers.
  • Directly manage clients if necessary (without agency structure).
  • May be required to manage producers and coordinators within the team: responsible for their career development, various support, skills evaluations, and salary negotiations.
  • Stay informed about new trends, technologies, suppliers, directors, etc.
  • Take initiatives to improve client relationships or successfully complete a project.

  • Sense of entrepreneurship and skills in operations management and administration.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 to 15 years of production experience minimum.
  • Experience with agencies.
  • Experience in line production.
  • Interest in new technologies (e.g., AI).
  • Good knowledge of Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of legal aspects related to production.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French is required. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, to work with national and international clients and colleagues (50% of the time) is also required.
